(AOMIP)

The major goal of the 11th AOMIP workshop is to review its activities and findings for the last 5 years and to plan its major activities for the next 5-year period.

The major workshop themes include modeling problems and results of:

• Sea ice dynamics and thermodynamics;
• Water circulation with a focus on Atlantic and Pacific waters;
• Modeling of freshwater and heat content variability;
• Modeling of sea level variability.

Other topics to be discussed are:

• How to validate and calibrate models;
• How and where to improve models;
• Interactions and collaborations with global modeling teams and other MIPs;
• AOMIP major results and future studies.
