An ISOMIP-LAS (Live Access Server) has been created. This is a node of the US National Virtual Ocean Data System (NVODS). This cyber infrastructure allows for efficient model-data exchange among ISOMIP participants.
The ISOMIP idealized geometry and forcing model-output data sets, archived at the ISOMIP website, will be available through the ISOMIP-LAS. The model results from each ISOMIP group may (or may not) be stored on a group's home-institute website, but in any case will be directly accessible to all participants through the ISOMIP-LAS.
No data may be explicitly (or implicitly) used in any publication without the expressed written permission of the modeling group responsible for creation of the data. There are no exceptions to this rule. Accessing data from the ISOMIP-LAS means that complete agreement with this policy has been established.
We adopt the NetCDF Climate and Forecast (CF) Metadata Convention (NetCDF-CF) as the ISOMIP standard for data format and exchange . For those not familiar with NetCDF, some useful tools to help with NetCDF manipulation in Fortran and Matlab computing environments are:
